This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and disclose your information when you use buildandmarket.dev, in accordance with the GDPR and the Polish Electronic Communications Law, and tells you about your privacy rights.

Personal Data

While using the website, we may ask you to provide:

  • your email address - when you subscribe to the newsletter or write to us;
  • a URL - when you enter one in the Meta Tags Preview tool (we don’t store it).

Usage Data

Usage data is collected automatically when using the website.

It may include your device’s IP address, browser type and version, the pages you visit, the time and date of your visit, and other diagnostic data.

When you visit the site’s root address (/), we read the Accept-Language header sent by your browser to redirect you to the Polish or English version. We do not set a separate cookie or identifier for this purpose. Visiting an address with an explicit language (/pl or /en) does not trigger this redirect.

If you consent to analytics, we also collect pseudonymous visit statistics. Analytics does not store your IP address and does not build personal profiles.

Necessary, consent acceptance, and functionality cookies do not require consent because they are needed for features you use. You can change or withdraw your analytics consent at any time via “Privacy settings” in the site footer. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing before its withdrawal.

Use of Your Personal Data

We may use personal data for the following purposes:

  • To provide and maintain the website, including selecting a language when you visit the root address and protecting the site from bots and abuse - based on our legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
  • To send the newsletter - based on your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR). Subscribing requires confirming your address via a link in an email (double opt-in), and you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in every email.
  • To reply to your messages - based on our legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR).
  • To analyze how the website is used - based on your consent (Article 6(1)(a) GDPR).
  • To demonstrate newsletter consent and defend against claims - based on a legal obligation and our legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(c) and (f) GDPR).

We may share your personal data:

  • With service providers that process it on our behalf: Cloudflare (hosting and protection), PostHog (analytics, only with consent), MailerLite (newsletter), and Google (email).

We do not sell your personal data.

Retention of Your Personal Data

We retain your personal data only for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy:

  • Newsletter: until you unsubscribe; unconfirmed sign-ups - up to 30 days. After you unsubscribe, we keep only proof of consent and unsubscription until the limitation period for claims expires.
  • Correspondence: up to 24 months after the conversation ends.
  • Analytics data: up to 12 months.
  • Server logs: for a short period set by Cloudflare.

We may retain data longer where required by law or where needed to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims. When these periods expire, we delete or anonymize the data.

Transfer of Your Personal Data

Your data may be processed wherever our service providers operate, including outside the European Economic Area. In that case, transfers rely on a European Commission adequacy decision (including the EU-US Data Privacy Framework) or standard contractual clauses.

Your Rights

You have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, and port your data, to object to processing based on our legitimate interest, and to withdraw consent at any time.

To exercise your rights, write to us. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Polish supervisory authority, the President of the Personal Data Protection Office (UODO), or with the authority in your country of residence.

Providing data is voluntary, but without an email address we can’t send the newsletter or reply to your message. We do not make automated decisions about you or use profiling.

Disclosure of Your Personal Data

We may disclose your personal data if required to do so by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities (e.g. a court or a government agency).

Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the last updated date at the top.
